The Burden of CommitmentBy Derek John Thomas / September 20, 2024 This is the third video of my deep dive into Lenormand. I hope you are ready to continue the journey with me. Just a heads up. I was still recovering from being sick, so my voice is going to sound different. Also, I might get a little muddle headed from time to time, so please be patient with me. What did you think or feel when you saw the title, “The Burden of Commitment”? Could you understand easily? Was it confusing? Was it triggering? Or did it give you a little chuckle of recognition? How do you usually feel after you have committed yourself to someone or something like a job or a creative project? For me, there is usually a lot of excitement and anticipation at the beginning. We call that the honeymoon phase, where everything is new and fascinating. We may be discovering ourselves as we are discovering the new thing we have bound ourselves to. However, over time that feeling fades, and we usually return to our frequent moments of unconscious behaviors. We might get enticed by new and shiny things that can distract us. We might begin to notice more of the challenges and difficulties surrounding who or what we have committed ourselves to. We might just start getting bored. At this point we may begin to question whether we had made the correct or the best choice. The person or thing that once delighted us might now begin to feel like a burden. This week’s spread gives us some help with these moments in our lives. If you want a reading from me, send an email to: thehangedmaninthemoon@gmail.com
