Discomfort of InspirationBy Derek John Thomas / December 1, 2023 The first spark of inspiration can be wonderful. It’s fresh and a little titillating. It’s, well, inspiring. It does ask many things of us though. We should have the space to nurture it or it will sputter out. It asks time of us to give it attention. In addition, we are also expected to have the sensitivity to know exactly what that inspiration is pointing to. Have you ever noticed yourself saying, “I want to……..” and find yourself unable to complete that sentence? Sometimes inspiration feels uncomfortable. Sometimes we aren’t ready to receive the inspiration when it comes. Why is that? We say we are too busy or don’t have the resources, intelligence, information, or creative ability to follow that inspiration, however those are merely excuses. Inspiration will only come when we have the capacity for them. Our discomfort comes from internal conflict, mostly in the sphere of the mind, but the clash spills over into our passions and creativity as well. Rather than just believing everything we think, there may be way to kindle the flame of inspiration. This week’s spread gives us some pointers. If you want a private reading from me, send an email to: thehangedmaninthemoon@gmail.com
