I was having dinner with my mother a few years ago, and she was determined to teach me something she had learned. My mind was occupied with something at the time, and I was not as interested or excited about what she was saying as she had hoped. She was disappointed and told me in no uncertain terms how important it is to continue learning until your dying day. I, of course, agree with her. I was shocked that she thought I didn’t have a passion for learning, but I understand now, that I had missed an opportunity at that moment.
Before recording this video, I checked online to see what people were saying about the eternal student. I was surprised that there were some sites, legitimate medical sites, that were suggesting rehabilitation for eternal students. There is a wide range of ideas around this moniker. In this discussion, we aren’t talking about people addicted to garnering degrees or certificates, we are talking about people who maintain their curiosity, their desire to understand and learn from this ever changing universe and their experiences in it.
