From Spirit to MatterBy Derek John Thomas / December 31, 2021 How do you imagine Self, the eternal being that you were before you entered this body, are now, and will continue to be after you have left this body? How does Self appear to you? Does it look like you? Is it a radiant, glowing ball of light? Does it move through space? If it does, where is it now? Sometimes, when I hear people describe the eternal Self, whether we call it Atman, Higher Self, Inner Being, Soul, Spirit, Mind, Consciousness, or any other label, as a calm, staid, holy, and somewhat boring entity. What if we imagined Self as a vibrant, playful, perhaps even splashy being joyfully experiencing life in all of its forms. How would that shift our understanding of who we are? We discuss this in this week’s video, and we ask four questions. 1) What needs to be balanced? 2) What am I committed to? 3) What is my heart saying? 4) Where is my joy?
