How do you feel about idealism. Do you dismiss it as unrealistic? Do people who seem idealistic appear to be weak or foolish to you? Do you think idealism requires living at least partially in a fantasy world or, at the bare minimum, looking at the world through rose colored glasses? I know that many people have quite a disparaging opinion of idealism, but is that necessarily the best way of perceiving it?
The opposite to idealism might be cynicism. Yes, some people would say that the opposite is realism, but that holds the false assumption that ideals have no connection with reality, and I hope we can set that prejudice aside. Cynicism is not how we want to approach life if we want to live life intentionally. I hope we can all agree on that. Cynicism is an indication that we are closing ourselves off from the powerful current of intention that is moving us in the direction of evolving into the people who will have the ideal experiences that we have placed on the current of intention.
In this week’s spread we look at moving from our personal strength to a powerful incarnation of the idealism of our higher selves.
