Like a Child

Trigger warning. We’re going Christian for a moment here.

Last week, we hovered around the Buddhist space with the topic of ‘beginner mind.’ or as I titled the video, Naivete. This week, we’re going Christian. In the Christian bible there are references to receiving the Kingdom of God like a child. Three places are in Mark 10:15, Luke 18:16, and Matthew 8:13. What does that mean? To me, it is telling us that if we can attain the qualities of wonder, curiosity, openness, and love that are innate to children, we will receive the Kingdom of God. So, what is the Kingdom of God? Is it a reward after death? Is it somewhere far away? All indications in the Christian Bible are that it is here and now. It is a state of being fully integrated in union with the Divine. In Buddhist traditions it could be called enlightenment.

The spread this week is not demanding that we get enlightened right here and right now, but that we prepare the conditions for the potential. One way to do that is to become like a child. We want to regain those qualities I mentioned above. And whether we attain the great awakening or not, we will certainly be living the intentional life, because we will have opened ourselves to the power of intention by opening to the wonder, curiosity, and delight with the experience we are having as eternal spiritual beings having this physically human experience. Perhaps you are asking yourself though, what is the difference between last week’s video and this one? Well, last week was primarily about a state of mind. This week is about a state of heart. Watch and find out why and how.
