Parthenogenesis

We who explore living the intentional life know that everything from our relationships, to our jobs, to our artistic creations, to the wonderful bodies we inhabit are co-creations. Nothing in this physical universe is a solo creation. And yet, there are times when we benefit from being open to parthenogenesis.

Parthenogenesis is the word used to describe when a living being, without a mate or partner, inseminates, gestates, and gives birth to offspring on their own. Examples of this can be found in plants, fish, insects, birds, and some other vertebrates. For us here, we are thinking of creating our lives rather than offspring. There are times when we want to be open to the possibility of inspiring ourselves, gestating ideas and dreams, and allowing the creation to be completed internally before we find the best time to bring it out into the world.

This week’s spread flows very nicely from last week’s when we discussed holding our cards close to the chest. I hope this week’s spread is as meaningful for you as it was for me.
