At the beginning of the year, having fresh desires to do, have, or become something is neither surprising nor particularly unwanted in most cases. ‘Tis the season for resolutions, year ahead spreads, and planning for most of us. For those of us living the intentional life, allowing ourselves be drawn in the direction of our evolution is a wonderful thing. We are being advised to do two things, though. We want to remember that those new desires or passions will call for some tending on our parts for them to grow into something viable. The newly sparked fire asks to be tended and fed for it to survive. If we want it to grow, we want to give it attention because where attention goes energy flows. We also want to be sure we are entering the fire of desire mindfully and with balanced energy. Though it can sometimes be beneficial to leap blindly into the unknown and discover our way as we go, this isn’t one of those times. The clarity of our thought and purpose will allow us to engage our magic in tending to the fires of passion.
